Inspired by Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille.

French niche brand Serge Lutens has released too many masterpieces throughout the years to count. Hits like Chergui, 5 o’clock Au Gingembre, and Ambre Sultan are not only some of the best fragrances in the niche market, but they are some of the best fragrances in the world. One such masterpiece is Un Bois Vanille, and this classic from 2003 combines vanilla with coconut, black licorice, beeswax, and bitter almond. This delicious creation fuses the creamy sweetness of sandalwood with the decadent aroma of vanilla and tonka bean. The modernity of the fragrance has not waned at all in the past couple of decades. If anything, it has achieved even greater status within the industry. A  Vanillac Wood is our impression of this Serge Lutens classic. The vanilla is sweeter, the beeswax is richer, and the sandalwood is creamier. Our inexpensive alternative will easily replace the original within your olfactory wardrobe as the smell is nearly identical, the price is far more reasonable, and the performance is impressively enhanced. A  Vanillac Wood is a versatile release for men and women, and it is fit for any occasion. Stay warm this fall and winter with A Vanillac Wood!

Soft, slightly sweet cosy vanilla.

I get vanilla, slightly sweet but not sugary or sickly, I definitely get a smidge of licorice, but like real licorice, which is slightly sweet and mild, nit black licorice which is strong and bitter and overwhelming.
The scent is cosy, not especially woody, and I say leans ever so slightly feminine.
It has a similar cosiness to CLEAN Skin and Dua Era of Vanilla, all of which are unisex leaning feminine to my mind.
Very nice
